Call to Worship (Psalm 62:5-8)
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
For my hope is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
My fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
My mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us.
Prayer of Confession: Gracious God, you have sent your Son to us to show us the way. Even when we have turned our backs and followed our own paths, You still offer us Light. Forgive us when we are so willful and stubborn. Forgive us when we think more about ourselves and our comforts than we think of reaching out to others. Remind us again that Jesus modeled for us the Light of Love that serves, guides and heals. Jesus came to offer the ultimate sacrifice for our sinfulness. Thank you for loving us so much that you would give us this most precious gift. And when we again falter and fail, lift us again with Your gentle touch. Pour Your Light into our lives once more, that finally, we will fully understand the power and depth of Your love for us, and live in the light of Your presence. Amen.

Third Sunday after Easter

St John's Reformed Church of Loysburg
Rev. Dr. David M. Meckley, Pastor
Message: Whole-Hearted Devotion
Scripture: Isaiah 38-39
Call to Worship (Psalm 119:81-88)
My soul longs for Your salvation;
I hope in Your word.
My eyes long for Your promise;
I ask, “When will You comfort me?”
How long must Your servant endure?
When will You judge those who persecute me?
All Your commandments are sure;
I have not forsaken Your precepts.
In Your steadfast love give me life,
That I may keep the testimonies of Your mouth.
Prayer of Confession: Almighty God, in raising Jesus from the tomb You have given us the sure sign of Your power to deliver us from sin and death and to renew Your whole creation. We confess that we still fall into doubt and fear. We continue to cling to selfish ways and doubt Your power to make all things new. Forgive our lack of faith. Have mercy on our weakness. Raise us from the death of sin that we may live with Christ in the joy and power of His resurrection, now and forever. Amen.
